Things to Come

Shamrock
Hello all you wonderful subscribers! Kevin & I are thrilled with the number of new subscribers we’ve had lately, and want to wish you all a warm welcome. I’m betting a number of you are local Cincinnatians and I hope we’re fulfilling your Cincinnati wine & spirits info needs.

There are some great things to come that I want to tell you about. First off, if you haven’t noticed, Kevin’s love of scotch & beer has turned him into our official Beer & Spirits guy. After all, sometimes you don’t want wine. Next, I hope to have several of the local wine retailers guest blog for special occasions. For example, our first guest blogger will be Jay Erisman, wine & spirits instructor from The Party Source. He’s travelling to France soon and he’ll be filling us in on that adventure. If I can’t go, I’ve got to live vicariously, right?

There’s a young man I’ve spoken with via email who is going for his sommelier exam this summer. I hope that I can cajole him into writing about that experience for us as well. Michael, from Cork and Bottle, will be attending a specialized tasting in May in Washington, DC. He has already volunteered to write up that event for your reading pleasure. I’ve got other ideas up my sleeve for some other folks as well. In addition, I have a goal to be certified by the Society of Wine Educators by the end of the year. I hope all of you will help hold me to that goal.

It’s funny. I’ve been blogging about wine since 2004, and moved all of my earlier wine posts into this blog in early 2006, but it was in 2007 that this blog has received a really big boost. So thanks to everyone! I hope you enjoy all the upcoming articles we’ll have to offer. We’ll do our best to continue to get one post a day out to all of you, with the occasional break on weekends.

Tonight we’re off to an Irish whiskey tasting over at The Party Source. Hope to see you there and have a happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Cheers!

  1. Hi, just wandered by. I have a Oakley website. Can’t believe the amount of information out there. Not quite what I was looking for, but good site. Take care.
