Verify & de-spam

Just a quick technical note for those of you who might be reading the blog but not getting the email that you’re sure you signed up for. Check your email. Seriously. There are two things you need to do:

• Read the initial verification email that was sent to you and click the link. This just verifies that you’re a real person and not some creepy spambot.
• Make sure that we’re not sitting in your Spam folder. If we are, we’re very sad and scared of all the creepy email in there with us. Spam is strange, and we promise not to spam you. At most there is a once a day email, assuming we’ve posted that day. Many of you are using your Hotmail or Yahoo accounts. I call these "spam accounts." I’ve got them too. Make sure that you check your spam account if you want to read the email feeds. You can even set up a filter to send it directly to your main account, and you can go back to ignoring that email account again.

I only mention these things because several of the email subscriptions have been sitting unverified for a while and I bet we’re in your spam box.
