We have been Sparky fans for years now. You have to do the Molly Dooker shake when you open the wine. Their wine making process demands it, if you want the full flavor that is. 2009 vintage is best Molly Dooker yet.If you are a fan of bold, tasty and big finish wines – enjoy. Their 2009 wines are simply fabulous.

Just had some of the wonderful Mollydooker two left feet shiraz from Austrailia at Bandera Restaurant in Corona Del Mar, California. Tastes is smooth as silk! Where do I go to buy a case?

I think Lenn’s right: this sounds a bit out of balance.
The only thing that SOMETIMES helps with a wine like this is 6-12 months more in the bottle. Especially with those varietals. But is may always be a little hot. Decanting in my experience doesn’t help with this aspect of wine perception, but you might be different so give it a try.

I’ve got a reco for dealing with high alcohol wines…put them back on the shelf
High alcohol wines that are BALANCED aren’t a problem for me though. Of course, don’t we want balance in all the wines we drink? Sounds like maybe this one just isn’t balanced well…no?
