Don’t forget – Wine Blogging Wednesday is this Wednesday, July 11 and we’re thrilled to be hosting. See the original post here. The theme is Wines from Spain under $10 or so. The wine can be red or white. Don’t forget sparkling – Spain makes some fun, value-priced cavas.
Your mission: This is not only an exercise in
Spain; it’s an exercise in trying value-priced wines. Taste at least
one bottle of Spanish wine, red, white, or sparkling, preferably under $10.
(I won’t fault you if you end up spending a little bit more.) Extra
kudos to the folks who search out of the Rioja box and find bottles
from the lesser known wine regions. Alder at Vinography has also suggested that folks look beyond Borsao, which is quite tasty at times but falls into the "too easy" category. (Borsao offers several low-cost options, including Tres Picos, Vina Borgia, and Borsao.)
Let me know what you thought of it. How was the selection at your
store? Did you get value for your dollar? Email me your thoughts and
your URL at spanish.wbw@gmail.com.
As soon as I collect everyone’s posts, I’ll summarize. Remember, you
don’t need a blog to participate. If you are blog-less, you can also
email me your thoughts and I’ll post those. This month’s due date is Wednesday, July 11.
Cheers!
