It’s a Slow News Week

It really is a slow news week, both in the Cincinnati wine arena and in the world. You know it’s bad when one of Decanter.com’s headlines is "Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie visit French vineyard." No kidding. I read it. It’s a useless article.

Let me point you to a couple of things to perhaps idle away a few precious minutes of your time. Tonight, we shall drink some wine and we’ll get back into wine reviews stat. This slow news stuff is a killer.

• Ohio’s new wine shipping laws are going into effect soon. They’re a little strange and limit how much wine you can actually have shipped to your house. It doesn’t sound like anyone involved actually understands the new laws, which could be a problem.
• Fancy, B-movie style merlot and stemware from Japan
• Sad news.
  Baron Elie de Rothschild, the man who brought Lafite de Rothschild to greatness (cousin to Phillipe of Mouton-Rothschild) passed away at the age of 90.
