Everyone in Cincinnati who’s spent a day in NYC or Paris is a gourmand.

I’m sorry, but Jeanro is worse than mediocre, it’s awful and it’s no value. Yea, you get a big portion, but a big portion of poor quality, badly prepared food is no value in my book. The kitchen staff is constantly turning over, and there is absolutely no supervision from Jean-Robert in the kitchen.
This place is no Pigall’s, and it’s lousy by bistro standards. Go to Balthazaar in Manhattan or Brasserie Jo in Chicago if you want to see how a French bistro should be run. Jean Robert doesn’t oversee this restaurant, it’s just a cash cow for his backers, the Wades. Jeanro is filled with meatballs who wouldn’t know good food from bad. I’m sure that Chalk will be yet another disappointment as well. Jean-robert is aiming pretty low these days in his efforts to get a return on the Wade’s money.

What a terrible name for a place hoping to please pallets. However, I just made a reservation for me and my partner in dining.
We’re dedicated JeanRo regulars. It’s the best value in Cincinnati. Rich, I’ve had mediocre meals there, but usually only on weekends when it’s busier. If you haven’t before, dine at the Bistro Monday or Tuesday evening and the quality of the food is at its peak.

Pigall’s is a truly outstanding restaurant, however all of J-R’s other places are quite mediocre. Jeanro Bistro is the biggest disappointment, the food is well below the bar. J-R has spread himself too thin, and he doesn’t oversee the quality at his other establishments. He’s cruising in his name. Pho was really good when it first opened, but since the move to Covington the food there really sent downhill.
