Note: For my regular readers, this post will
remain at the top for quite some time. Below this post are regular
updates to the blog.

As many of you know, I unexpectedly
lost my sister to an undiagnosed heart defect in October. Krystal was only 21, and pursuing
an elementary education degree at Thomas More.

My cousins & I have decided to
launch a Memorial Scholarship to Thomas More College in Krystal’s name. Read on to find out how you can help.

Due to inclement weather, the Benefit Dinner has been Rescheduled for March 14.

The scholarship will be given, yearly, to a freshman elementary education major
with a specific (high) GPA. In order to launch the scholarship, we have to raise
$25000 in 3 years. That’s a lot of money and it’s sort of a scary thought to
need to raise that much.

We are holding our first benefit on
March 7 14 at 7 pm. It’s at Briarwood, in Hebron, KY,
and tickets are $20. We would like to pre-sell as many tickets as possible.

Tickets include dinner and dancing, as well as a silent
auction.

I fully admit that I’m not that
great at this, but here goes … We need several things:

1. Publicity. Tell everyone you know to
visit our web site and buy tickets to the benefit or donate directly to the
scholarship.
2. People. Buy tickets to the benefit.
We’d love to have you.
3.Donations for the silent auction.
While we’ve got a nice selection of items, we need more goods and/or services to
auction off at either this or one of our upcoming
fundraisers.

4.Your patience with me. I imagine
you’ll get several posts from me this year promoting one benefit or another. This
is only the beginning.
