My favorite way to make restaurant reservations is by using OpenTable. Many of the better restaurants in our area use it. Based in San Francisco, OpenTable lists over 8500 restaurants nationwide.
On Monday, OpenTable released numbers that state they are now seating over 3 million diners per month. That’s an amazingly large number that is up 50% over last year. The company charges a fee of $1 per diner seated on reservations made
through its website and 25 cents per diner if it handles
reservations made directly from a restaurant’s own website. OpenTable also licenses its software to restaurants, meaning it’s more than just a web-based platform.
OpenTable now has a full-fledged mobie site, available at http://mobile.opentable.com. I’m glad they’ve entered the mobile fray, as there a lot of times when I’m not near a computer – but have my phone – and I want to make dinner reservations. I’m already googling the phone number of the restaurant on my phone, I might as well make the reservation online as well.

I love OpenTable and use it all the time – even found a way to get 1000 point reservations – which is just another great reason to go to Pigalls!
