Planning New Year’s Eve in Cincinnati

It's about time that everyone started making plans for New Year's Eve. Last year, after a not-that-great year, we opted to host our own New Year's Eve party, which was fun and happily low-key. This year, we're also sticking with low-key, but we're headed out on the town.

We're headed to Bouquet Wine Bar in Covington. From 10 pm- 1 am they will be hosting a sparkling wine tasting, with appetizers. The cost is $40. We'll be there with Tim, his lovely wife, and Jessica from Liquor Direct and her boyfriend.  Interested? I'm not sure if there are seats left, but you can contact Danny Gold for more information.

Other events that I've been told about include the following:

• New Year's Eve Dinner at Eddie Merlot's: This one will run you $75/person and seatings are from 4 – 11 pm. I'd consider this your pre-party dinner.
• New Year's Eve Dinner at Bella Luna: I've
  got to tell you, I'm considering this one. I realize that Bella Luna
  inspires love it or hate it reactions by folks, but I fall into the
  love it category. This is another pre-party dinner, with seatings at 6
  pm and 8:30 pm. The price is right as well, at $119/couple.
• Stonebrook Winery in Cold Spring:
  The Winery is hosting a special New Year's Eve Dinner at their Cold
  Spring location. Cost is $25/person. Seatings start at 7 pm so you'll
  be done in time to watch Dick Clark, er, Ryan Seacrest host Dick
  Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve from your couch.
• Cincinnati Shakespeare Company: Take in a hilarious play before you head out to your revelry. CSC is playing their popular Every Christmas Story Ever Told!!
  at their theatre on New Year's Eve. Tickets include a glass of
  champagne. This is my favorite show they do all year and includes all
  my favorite actors. It has nothing to do with Shakespeare, and
  everything to do with pop culture.  This show is normally played in the
  Arnold's Courtyard (I think we're seeing it there tomorrow). 
• Bang Nightclub: This
  one starts at 8 pm. You have to like Bang, but I bet if I had table
  service, I'd love the place. On New Year's Eve, large tables are $600,
  which includes 10 admissions, two bottles of
  premium liquor and one bottle of premium negociant champagne. A small
  table
  is $300, which includes six admissions, one bottle of premium liquor
  and one bottle of premium negociant champagne.

• 
  New Year's Eve Dinner and Pajama Party at Lavomatic: $55/4 course dinner and Champagne toast at midnight. Everyone who comes in their PJs gets a "special treat."
• New Year's Eve Speakeasy: Come
  to Know Theatre and experience a night in the roaring 20s! The Jackson
  Street Underground is turning into a roarin' house of prohibition
  relief for the night of New Year's Eve. Enjoy fast paced games of black
  jack, music by the Stardust Trio, Christian Moerlein Beer Tasting, 20s
  dance lessons, a live DJ, plenty of grub, and giggle juice like
  manhattans, martinis and sidecars to boot! This is sure to be the most
  swingin' New Year's Eve party in town. $12 in advance/$20 at the door
• Olde Fort Thomas Pub, Ft Thomas, KY: $40/per person, open bar on well drinks and domestic bottles, drafts, and food. Live music by One Not Taken.

Cincinnati Enquirer's MetroMix has a page
that is continuously updated with more bar-style events. It currently includes
the Bang event, Southgate House for live music, Havana Martini Club,
Bobby Mackey's, and more.
