My sister was killed in 2005. We set up a scholarship in her name, too – every year now, a student from her University goes on a student exchange just like she did before she died.
The girls (they’ve all been girls so far, don’t know why!) always stay in touch and let us know how they’re doing – so far we’ve sent one to America, one to Chile, and one to the UK (we’re Australian).
Good on you for doing this – but don’t you belittle your ‘coping mechanism’. As the Archbishop of Canterbury once said, ‘wisdom is the ability to cope.’
I’ll see what I can do to help.
