I know, I've been a lousy blogger in the last few weeks. I haven't done the weekly events round-up and daily posts aren't really happening. Because I'm one of only four people on the organizing committee for the Krystal Pepper Memorial Scholarship – and the big benefit is this coming weekend – I've been a bit distracted. I'll be back to normal after Saturday.
So, who's coming?
Our benefit can't help but be good when folks like Monika from Such a Redkat Blonde, Bob & the Mrs from 5chw4rtz, and Amy & family from Amy in Ohio are in attendance. Twitterer Chris Bergman is serving as our resident photographer for the night, wandering around and snapping photos of everyone and everything.
What'cha got to drink?
My living room has been overtaken by the wine portion of the Silent Auction. I can't wait for the event to be over just so I can have the room back.
As you can see, we've got a lot of wine. Here's just a sampling:
We have more than twice as many wine donations as last year, and I'm thrilled! Not wanting to bid? That's okay, beer & wine (& dinner) are included in your ticket price.
Hungry? Bored?
And that's just the wine. Our friends at The Palace and The Cincinnatian have donated a night in a Jr Suite and $100 to The Palace, and Morton's is also donating a generous gift certificate. A friend who wants to remain anonymous contributed a $100 gift certificate to Jeff Ruby's. The Cincinnati Opera has given us two orchestra seats to Carmen this summer, and we're partnering that with the Morton's dinner.
There's a whole lot of other stuff in the auction too, including sports prints and jewelry. I'm mostly familiar with what is spread across my living room though.
What if the auction is too pricey?
Well, yeah. We were given a bunch of amazing high-end items. But we also have a raffle. Yay! Raffle! The raffle includes some wine, some gorgeous hand-made jewelry, note cards, and an apron from Crafty and Crap, as well as some awesome framed photos and a lovely hand-knit scarf from Karamichele Designs. Those are all in my living room as well. Saturday morning I'll be picking up a cookie bouquet from Cookies by Design and we have Reds tickets, autographed photos, collectible bourbon bottles (with bourbon of course), and more on the raffle table.
Raffle tickets cost 1 for $1, 6 for $5, and 20 for $10. Last year, the raffle ended up being one of the funnest parts of the night.
Admission tickets are still available for $30 at http://www.klpscholarship.org. You can buy online until Friday, when the price goes up to $35 and you have to buy tickets at the door.
After the jump, I give a shout out to all the local bloggers who took time out to publicize our event, and some of the sponsors, many of whom I consider personal friends, who donated time or services.
My huge, hearty, and heartfelt thanks to all of you!
Thanks to the local bloggers who gave us such great publicity!
