Now Nancy, don't discount your second-label. We enjoy River Village Cellars. Remember we bought a case? This year's white blend is a perfect combination of price and quality, making it a lovely hot-summer-day wine. Seriously!

You know your Viognier / Roussanne is one of my favorite whites in the world (in fact, I think we have bottles back through 2006), but the River Village blend is good for sipping on the patio. Kevin calls it a lawn-mowing wine, so there you go. Both the wines are yummy and have their place.

Please don't judge Kinkead Ridge's white wine portfolio by the 2nd label River Village Cellars white wine! This was priced at $8.95 for a reason. We dropped an incredible amount of rotten fruit on the ground, and salvaged what we could for this blend. It was such a tiny quantity that it could not be cold stabilized and consequently could throw tartrates in the bottle in the refrigerator (harmless but a powdery looking thing in the bottle). Either try to find the 2008 whites or wait for the 2010 whites to see what we are really capable of. David Schildknecht, who writes for Robert Parker, thinks our Viognier/Roussanne should be our signature wine.
